At Automated Garage Doors and Gates we are always looking to increase the range of products that we can offer to our customers. As our supplier, Garador, releases new products we try to ensure that we can stock and supply them to you, allowing you the best selection of garage doors possible. Just last week Garador released a new selection of timber garage doors that will look great in any home.
Cedar and Elizabethan Doors
Garador has added two new ranges to their selection of timber up and over garage doors, Cedar and Elizabethan, adding a total of 4 different doors. The Cedar doors are made from solid, red cedar wood, as the name implies, while the Elizabethan doors are made from a combination of solid red cedar and plywood backing. The four new doors on offer are:
- Countryman: A cedar garage door featuring horizontal boards and panels.
- Hampton: A cedar garage door that uses vertical boards and panels.
- Addlington: A traditional garage door that utilises vertical cedar boards and panels surrounded by a wooden frame.
- Grantham: This Elizabethan door is features thick, vertical panels built around a strong box section chassis for rigidity.

All of the doors that Garador supply come with a base stain for their wood as standard but a specialist choice of stains and finishes can be chosen to enhance their appearance and appeal. The wood has been carefully selected to ensure that the wood does not warp when subject to moisture, allowing it to last a lifetime if properly maintained.
Why choose a timber door?
When it comes to installing a garage door in your home you have a choice between timber and metal. Metal is the more common option chosen by most homeowners looking for an economical design. Timber doors are viewed by many to be the more luxurious option, so choosing to install them will add a great amount of style and class to your property.
An often overlooked advantage of wooden doors is that they are better insulated and more soundproof than their metal counterparts. While this will not be a deciding factor for many people who only use their garages to store their cars, for those that use their garage for general storage or as workshops this will be ideal
