Case Study: Roller Garage Door Installation in Holt, North Norfolk

case study: roller garage door installation in holt

Our installers recently undertook a new roller garage door installation at a property in Holt, Norfolk. The customer was looking for a garage door that would combine security, thermal efficiency, and aesthetics - we were able to offer a solution that ticked all the boxes.

Having listened to the customer’s needs, we recommended a Warm Protection Compact Roller Garage Door. These doors are designed to perfectly fit within an existing garage structure, offering both practical benefits and a stylish look.

Some of the key features include:

  • Robust Construction: The door is made up of 52mm hard foam-filled aluminium locking profiles. This provides excellent thermal insulation, while also enhancing security. The tight coiling design ensures maximum space efficiency and durability, making it the ideal choice for residential or commercial properties.
  • Smooth and Silent Operation: To ensure quiet and efficient operation, we installed metal frame brushed lined guide rails. They offer a smooth, friction-free experience every time the door is used.
  • Motorisation: For optimal performance, we fitted a Somfy internal tubular motor. These motors are known for their reliability and quiet operation, ensuring smooth opening and closing of the door. Additionally, a manual internal override was included, which ensures operation can continue even during power outages.
  • Control: The customer opted for two fully coded Somfy handsets for remote control, along with a wall-mounted Somfy remote control unit. This ensures they have easy operation, regardless of whether they are inside or outside of the garage.
  • Enhanced Safety and Security: This compact roller garage door combines smart security with peace of mind. It locks automatically when closed, includes a built-in alarm to deter forced entry, and features a safety edge that covers the door when closing. If the door comes into contact with someone laying on the floor, the door will stop and go back up - thus reducing the risk of personal injury.

Finishing Touches

As part of the process, our team removed and disposed of the old door and frame, leaving the property clear and ready for the new installation. We completed the look by trimming the exterior with white uPVC trim for extra weather protection, and to give the door a clean and polished finish.

Comprehensive 5-Year Warranty

To ensure the customer has complete peace of mind this installation came with a 5-year warranty, covering the door and its components for many years to come.
