Rust
The steel parts of older garage doors that have not been maintained may start to corrode in the relentless dampness of the British winter. If the rust is minor and not affecting the mechanism, you might be able to remove it yourself and repaint. For larger rust issues that are causing you concern, give our repairs team a call.
Dents
Accidental vehicle damage to garage doors can occur when driveways are slippery with ice. It happens more often than you might think! The size of the dent will determine how we deal with it. Depending on the type of door and the extent of the damage, we can sometimes replace parts (e.g. a broken panel) rather than the whole door..
Faulty Mechanism
If water gets into an opening mechanism and then freezes when temperatures drop overnight then your door opening mechanism may become faulty or stop working altogether. In either case, cease use of the door until an expert can take a look.
