A Brief Guide to Garage Doors

The wide range of garage doors on the market can be confusing when you’re trying to decide on a garage door. If you are unsure which option would be the best for you, check out our quick and easy guide to the three main kinds of garage doors.

Up and Over Doors

An up and over garage door is a single piece door that opens upwards and slides under your garage ceiling. Up and over doors come in two types: canopy doors, which stick out from your garage when open, and retractable doors, which retract fully into your garage space and are more suitable for larger openings.

Sectional Doors

Sectional garage doors provide better insulation than the other types of garage doors. If you are using your garage as a workspace or home gym and feeling the cold in the winter, a sectional door is probably the right choice for you.

Roller Doors

Some garages are built to the limitations of the available space, meaning their openings can be small and accessibility can be an issue. If this sounds familiar, a roller door might be the solution. The opening mechanism of a roller door stores away neatly behind and above the entrance, and the door simply rolls open and closed.
